Whether you're aged 9 months, 9 or 90 you will receive a very warm welcome if you come along to a Sunday morning service at Christ Church Orchard Park.
At the heart of our service is a reading from the Bible and a talk, bringing understanding and relevance from the Bible - the word of God - to our lives today. During the service we pray, sing hymns (both old and new) and hear news about various activities organised by the church.
Part way through the service, younger children go to a separate room to do crafts, games and learn about Jesus. (See below to find out what is available for children of different ages).
What Time Should I Arrive?
Our services usually start at 10.30 am. But, don't worry if you arrive late - you won't be locked out.
Where Can I Park?
We have a large car park with plenty of free parking.
What Should I Wear?
You don't have to 'dress up' or wear your Sunday best. Just be yourself and come as you are.
Will I Be Asked To Do Anything?
No. You won't be singled out or put on the spot. You can participate as much, or as little, as you like.
Do I Have To Be A Christian?
No. Everyone is welcome. But, if you have any questions about the Bible or what it means to be a Christian, please feel free to talk to our Pastor, Rob Tearle.
Can I Bring My Children?
Of course. We are a family-friendly church. Activities are organised for children of all ages. See our Lighthouse page for more details.
All our children's workers adhere to the church's Safeguarding Policy.
Baby-changing facilities are available in the toilets.
How Long Will The Service Last?
Services usually last just over an hour.
Do I Need Any Money?
No. There is a collection box at the exit door so people can contribute to the work of the church. But, you are under no obligation to give anything.
What Happens After The Service?
You are welcome to stay for refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) and chat to members of the church family, if you wish.
Can I Watch The Service From Home?
Yes. Our services are streamed live through our YouTube channel and Facebook page.
What Else Does The Church Do?
We organise a variety of activities throughout the week to appeal to all ages and interests. Our website and Facebook page give details of these events. Or, get in touch with us for more information.
Do You Hold An Evening Service?
On Sunday evenings we join other churches in the Christ Church Network (Christ Church Newland and Christ Church Riverside) for a service at St Mary's College at 6.30 pm.
Hopefully, we have answered all your questions here. But, if you want to find out more or if you have any concerns, please contact our Pastor, Rob Tearle: . Tel: (01482) 689494.
Whether you would call yourself a Christian or not we would love you to join us to worship God together and - through the Bible - to learn more about the God who made us.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
