Philippians 2:9-11 – A Sure Thing
Introduction

‘A sure thing’
Jesus has been exalted over all creation (2:9)
Award Ceremonies
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name”
What does Jesus’ exaltation teach us?
All creation bows before the exalted Jesus (2:10)
In heaven
On earth
Under the earth
“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth”
What does Jesus’ exaltation teach us?
Every tongue will confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father (2:11)
Playing ‘Mercy’ game
“and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”
